Yoga is Big Business, but is it Accessible & Inclusive?
Listen to my recent interview with CJRO Radio 107.7 FM
Perhaps you have practiced before and want to return to your mat. Or curious wondering what all the fuss is about. Maybe you are intimidated, you think you are not flexible enough, too old, too sore, or had the experience in a yoga class where it was “one size fits all” like a chorus line and that surely didn’t work.
Well, there is another option, Gentle Yoga, where regardless of age, physical ability or experience, all are welcome. No need to get into a pretzel shape, rather tune into your breath and feel your body open while gently stretching.
Beginning yoga, this is the practice for you. Returning to practice, benefit from the choice of gentler postures to more demanding. Imagine unwinding, detaching and letting-go, sound inviting? Come experience the gift of breathing slowly (pranayama) while stretching the body (asana). Step off the treadmill of Life and return home to Yourself. All skeptics welcome...
Try a class to see if it is of interest then decide if you would like to join. New students can begin at any time.
Sandy's goal is to bring yoga into your community, workplace or home, making it convenient and accessible for all. Accessible Gentle Yoga is an approach to teaching based on the ideals of inclusivity, diversity and accessibility (for more information visit class description and refer to class schedule).
